These MkII versions are a true upgrade
I researched and found that Monster updated the M1000 engenieering and design in 2006/2007 to these MkII iteration. From my experience, the word I can use is SUPERB. Balanced frequency range after a pair of weeks burned-in (YES, the burn-in phenomenon IS real). Highs were drowned and rolled off at first but clearly started to appear and shine after the burn-in period. The cable has a fast, precise response in it's sound. Percussions are tight and tactile. Plucked strings and voices are articulate, palpable, clean, and exquisite. Nuances in vocal and instrumental timbre/color are pleasantly rendered. I use a solid state HK amp and one set of these M1000i MkII as interconnects from my DVDA/SACD/CD HK spinner and another set as jumper cables between the pre-amp and main-in sections. Soundstage is broad-open and deep. Separation and instrument position is pin-point precise. I do not regret the price paid.
