The Alpine KTE-10G 10" Subwoofer Grille - Cheap Insurance For My Alpine SWR-10D4
Made for Alpine type "R" (SWR) and "S" (SWS) speakers, the KTE-10G is a sturdy black-painted steel mesh grille for even deep excursion Alpine subwoofers. That said, there are also other 10" speakers that it can be used with.
In the case of my Alpine SWR-10D4 Type-R 10" Subwoofer with Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils, I just removed the included rubber speaker gasket, and installed the KTE-10G using the supplied black stand-offs and screws. Two colors of stand-offs are supplied, with the clear ones used for Type "S" subs. There are also clear instructions, and the type "R" and "S" grille emblems you can use or not use - they really don't affect the appearance of the grille if not used.
